"White people" never lied to you, they told you HE is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they never said HE is the God Nnamdi, Nkrumah, Tamasgan, or Babatunde, they never said HE is the God of Enugwu, Mampong,Aksum or Ile-Ife, they clearly told you HE is the God of Israel.
